A DAD has slammed a "disgraceful" traffic warden for slapping him with a £75 parking fine at the hospital where his son was recovering from a six-hour operation.

Patients watched on in disbelief as the jobsworth attendant left the fine on Daniel Ingman's windscreen - even though he had a permit on the dashboard.

He had left his black Land Rover in the car park of Leeds General Infirmary while checking up on son Percy.

Passers-by confronted the sneering warden - who silently turned away and walked to the hospital entrance.

Mr Ingman says on the clip: "My child has had a six-hour operation. It's an absolute disgrace.

"It's disgusting. With everything else I have got to then write off."

"The passer-by who filmed the incident said: "It is absolutely horrible. It is all about revenue.

Hospital parking firms 'using patients as cash cows' as profits DOUBLE by up to £13.59m per year

PRIVATE parking firms have been accused of using patients as "cash cows" as it emerged their profits doubled by up to £13m per year.

The firms, which have faced criticism for overzealous practises, run thousands of car parks across the country, with many at hospitals and train stations.

Pre-tax profits at Parking Eye more than doubled in two years, from £6.58 million in 2016 to £13.59 million last year.

The parking company's 3,500 sites include more than ten major hospitals and numerous other NHS premises.

It comes as it was revealed that some councils rake in £200,000 an hour in fines.

But while at some car parks there are agreements where the NHS trust keep the revenue from parking charges, it makes money from "enforcement" – which means keeping all the cash from fines it issues.
