Saban’s full name is Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. He was born on October 31, 1951, in Fairmont, West Virginia, United States. His parents are Mary and Nick Lou Saban Sr.

Nick Saban was raised in Monongah, a small community in West Virginia. He attended Monongah High School, from where he continued his education at Kent State University.

He graduated from the prestigious university in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Soon after, he enlisted with the Kent State Golden Flashes football team and graduated in 1975 with a Masters in Sports Administration from the Kent-based university.
